Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
The data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find their contact details in the legal notice of this website.
How do we collect your data?

Cookies
"Cookies" are small files that are stored on users' computers. Different information can be stored within the cookies. A cookie primarily serves to store information about a user (or the device on which the cookie is stored) during or after their visit to an online offering. Temporary cookies, or "session cookies" or "transient cookies," are cookies that are deleted after a user leaves an online offering and closes their browser. In such a cookie, for example, the content of a shopping cart in an online store or a login status can be stored. "Permanent" or "persistent" cookies are cookies that remain stored even after the browser is closed. For example, the login status can be stored if users visit these after several days. Similarly, user interests can be stored in such a cookie, which is used for reach measurement or marketing purposes. "Third-party cookies" are cookies offered by providers other than the responsible party that operates the online offering (otherwise, if it is only its cookies, it is referred to as "first-party cookies").
The Hips Don't Lie website does not use session or persistent cookies. No information is stored or processed for the purposes of direct marketing, reach measurement, or Google Analytics.
To protect input forms on our site, we use the "reCAPTCHA" service of Google Inc. By using this service, it can be distinguished whether the corresponding input is of human origin or is being misused by automated machine processing. Google sets a cookie in your browser and captures a snapshot of your browser window. For more information, please see Section 5. Tools and Miscellaneous.
4. Data Collection on This Website
Contact Form
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR, if your request is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR) if this has been requested.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to store it, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – especially retention periods – remain unaffected.

5. Tools and Miscellaneous
Google reCAPTCHA
We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”) on this website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
reCAPTCHA is used to check whether the data entered on this website (e.g., in a contact form) is entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g., IP address, the duration of the visitor's stay on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.
The reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background. Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place.
The storage and analysis of the data are based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and SPAM. If a corresponding consent has been requested (e.g., consent to store cookies), the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR; the consent can be revoked at any time.
